On normal Sundays, when there is no major feast, we usually chant this ‘kontakion’ for the most Holy Virgin Mary. We put all our troubles in her hands and pray for her aid and mediation. Although we abandon this ‘kontakion’ since the start of the pre-lent triody until the Pentecost, we never stop putting our troubles in her hands or seeking refuge in her kindness.
KONTAKION FOR ORDINARY SUNDAYS IN TONE TWO
O protection of Christians that cannot be put to shame, mediation unto the Creator most constant, O despise not the suppliant voices of those who have sinned; but be thou quick, O good one, to come unto our aid, who in faith cry unto thee: Hasten to intercession, and speed thou to make supplication, thou who dost ever protect, O Theotokos, them that honor thee.
