Holy Week 2014: The Byzantine countertenor

The voice of Fr. Nikodimos Kabarnos is simply angelic! It takes you to such amazing heights, and although some may consider his style a bit unique and not strictly traditional, but so are great chanters! I hear the same said of great chanters like Vassilicos as well.

Now, was this chanting really performed at Agia Sophia? Can anyone shed some light on this?

“They took off My clothes, and they gave Me a crimson cloak. Upon My head they put a Crown of Thorns. And to My right hand they gave a wooden staff, to crush them like pottery”
