Lent 2014 – Day 34: Until next year…

Saying goodbye to chants and hoping to be in good health to chant them again the next year is like bidding farewell to a good friend who is traveling away for a year. The uniqueness of every feast and every service in our byzantine tradition brings both variety and authenticity to each celebration.

This chant is only chanted 10 times in the year during the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great. The chant is performed by the great Lebanese chanter Joseph Haris and Fr. Andre Farah

All of creation rejoices in you, O full of grace: the assembly of angels and the human race. You are a sanctified temple and a spiritual paradise, the glory from whom God was incarnate and became a child; our God, existing before all ages. He made your womb a throne, and your body more spacious than the heavens. All of creation rejoices in you, O full of grace. Glory to you.
