Lent 2014 – Day 02: O, Heavenly King

Last night I sat down to write day 2 post and decided to close my eyes and pick a random album from the shelf beside me. The album I pulled out was:

Pentecostarion

Pentecostarion

Hymns from the Pentecostarion / A recital at St. Dimitrios Church / Choir of the School of Church Music / Orthodox Archdioceses of Beirut

As we still have a long journey until we get to the Pentecost, I wanted to pick a chant from this album that is suitable for the 2nd day of lent. The choice was very easy to make, I chose one of the most used prayers in our churches:

“O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere and fillest all things; Treasury of Blessings, and Giver of Life – come and abide in us, and cleanse us from every impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.”

I feel there is no better was for us to start the day with the blessings of our Father the Giver of Life.

Have a good day everyone!
